About Us

ACTIVE FARM FAMILY

We are a family of four, and farming is more of a hobby for us. We have around 30 sheep on the farm, just over 20 hens, the eidar duck Ingvi and our wonderful dog Tína.
Vigfús works in Vík and runs a transportation company for goods.
Eva runs the household and the guesthouse, and takes care of the eidar population in spring, collecting down and aiding in the protection of the nests.
The two boys are very active, and diligent; they go to school in Vík and are great helpers on the farm.

We bought the land in 2005 to build ourselves a home for ourselves, and in 2012 we decided to do up the old house and make it into the grand guesthouse it is today.
We strive to make everyone feel welcome on our homeland, and that everyone that comes to the guesthouse feel they are.
Everyone recieves some coffe (or tea if you'd like) and cake as is an old icelandic custom.
We wish for everyone that comes to our guesthouse to feel they are welcomed and that they manage to take great pleasure in the countryside, and to love it as much as we do.
The guesthouse opened in August 2012. It is located in the countryside on the farm Garðakot in the southernmost part of Iceland, next to the bird sanctuary Dyrhólaey, a beauty of nature. To find us you take a turn from mainroad no. 1 into road no. 218, than you will see sign, Garðakot, the farm name and there we are.
